Buddha Boy

The 7/8 boys Book Club read Buddha Boy by Kathe Koja. Buddha Boy tells the story of Justin and his unlikely friendship with the school’s ” weird” kid, Jinsen, who was named by his Buddhist teacher.

Students were asked give one or two words or a short statement that they felt described the book. This is what they came up with.

“Not my kind of book. 3 stars” – Micheal

“Believable”

“Surprisingly honest” -Dave

“I really liked this book. I liked how Justin stuck up for Jinsen. I thought that was nice and if he didn’t Jinsen would have been in a lot of trouble.”

Next month the group will be reading Peak by Ronald Smith.
