Add Ophelia and the Marvelous Boy to Your Reading List

Would you be interested in a story that is gorgeously written, complex in its storytelling, filled with old-fashioned language juxtaposed with modern day images, told against a backdrop of love, friendship, loss, bravery, good and evil? Not really? What if I told you that there magic swords, a creepy museum, ghosts, extremely hungry birds, huge wolves, a soul extracting machine, an evil queen and a 300 year old boy? Did I mention a thrilling sword fight?

Ophelia and the Marvelous Boy by Karen Foxlee is a retelling os Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen. It is much, much more. It stands tall on its own. If you are familiar with fairy tales, have graduated to Harry Potter and love a really good story, this one will not disappoint.
