Home Cooking for Busy Families

JML is excited to present a series of cooking demonstrations for families on the go. India and John McConochie of Green Bean Catering will be bringing an array of fresh ingredients into the library’s new kitchen, and demonstrate step-by-step how to create delicious, healthy home-cooked meals that won’t break the bank or keep you in the kitchen for hours.

India and John will discuss how and where to buy quality ingredients at reasonable prices, and basic techniques of food preparation that become building blocks for future meals. Participants will learn short-cuts and do-aheads to help get a fresh, nutritious dinner on the table in a timely fashion. Each class will cover an entire meal with the main dish and sides. The classes are one hour long, and at the end of each class, the prepared meal will be divided among the participants to take home. Classes are limited to 8 participating adults, but they are encouraged to bring their children to help. Printed recipes will be available to take home, and JML will host a blog on our website with the recipes and encourage participants to share ideas and their own recipes.

The first class is on Thursday, December 5 from 6-7pm.

“Pot Roast Dinner”, will include beef pot roast, veggies, and mashed potatoes. See how simple and delicious this classic meal can be!

The class is FREE, but you must sign up by Monday, December 2 at the library. Future classes will include Pot Pies, Lasagna, BBQ Pork, and others. Look for more information about the schedule on our website soon.
