Poetry Reading

The Next Hunger, by Kimberly Cloutier Green

Thursday, November 14th

4:30 to 5:00pm

Poet Kimberly Cloutier Green will read from her book, The Next Hunger, a collection of poems that traces the artist’s deepening attention to and connection with the mysterious life of the spirit in nature and community. Former Maine Poet Laureate Betsy Sholl says of the work in this book: “There is a fine intelligence in these poems, a delicate, sharp-eyed vision that combines accuracy with a magic that can turn chalk dust into pollen, or a word into an illumination of the thing it names, and then further, into all that is beyond naming.” Ms. Green, a poet, collaborating artist, and teacher living in Kittery Point, Maine, is a recent Pushcart Prize nominee and MacDowell Fellow. She is the ninth Poet Laureate of the City of Portsmouth, NH.
