Educating the Students of St. George

Planning for the Future

The town of St. George has designated a committee to negotiate a withdrawal plan with RSU #13. Once an agreement has been reached, the citizens will have an opportunity to examine it , ask questions, and if necessary modify it before a final vote is taken.  The agreement will specify the terms of the separation with RSU 13 and your input is important.  A series of meetings has been set up to listen to parents and community members about your concerns, questions and priorities as we move forward. We will be asking for your ideas about: the facility, transportation, allied arts curriculum, extra-curricular sports, and high school options.
Making a plan for withdrawal is only the first step. If the vote is positive, we must have people committed to serving on the school board for our independent school. If we vote not to withdraw, but to remain part of RSU #13, your involvement is still important. At the present time, RSU #13 is working on plans that include the closing of schools, the merging of middle schools and the reconfiguration of the high school. With the exception of present juniors and seniors, all other students will be impacted by the decisions that are made.

Please try to attend one of the scheduled meetings and forward this message to anyone you think would be interested.
