Thinking about being a writer?

As part of our Teen Read Week festivities and as a kick-off event to National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), the Jackson Memorial Library will host a writing workshop with Beckie Weinheimer, an ALA Best Books author.  This program will take place on Friday, October 19th, from 3:30 to 4:30 at the library.  Weinheimer will work with teens on their writing and discuss how she became a writer herself.

Beckie Weinheimer's first book, Converting Kate, takes place in Downeast Maine.  It was chosen as a Best Book for Young Adults by the American Library Assocation.  Currently she is working on two novels.  You can find out more information about her at her website.
