Internet Use Policy

Internet use at the Library is free. During busy times please limit your use of the Library's computer to 30 minutes. 

Wireless internet access is available 24/7 and requires a laptop computer with a wireless network card.

Computer printouts cost 10¢/page.

Internet and Computer Use Policy

The Library offers free Internet access and other computer-related services to its patrons. The Board of the Library has adopted the following policies concerning the use of the computer.

General
Patrons are expected to make appropriate use of the equipment and to show consideration for others. The use of this service is a privilege, not a right, and inappropriate use may result in cancellation of this privilege.

Warning
The Library has no control over the information accessed through the Internet, and cannot be held responsible for the quality, accuracy, currency or appropriateness of any information found via the Internet.

Staff Assistance
The staff will provide limited assistance for basic procedures.

Time Limits
There is a 30 minute time limit when others are waiting to use the service. Patrons may sign up in advance for one 30 minute period per day.

Printing
A printer is available for public use at a cost of 10¢ per black and white page.

Downloading

Please check with the librarian before attempting to download anything to the computer. Software installations are generally not allowed, but may be granted an exception based on the librarian's opinion.  

Email
The Library does not offer e-mail accounts. We are happy to help you set up your own email account.

Ethical Use
The Library computer and Internet access may be used for legal and ethical purposes only. Unacceptable uses include, but are not limited to: harassment of other users; tampering with or damaging the Library data, software, or equipment; and unauthorized copying of copyright-protected or licensed material.

Children
Restriction of a child's access is the responsibility of his or her parent or guardian. Children 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult when using the computer.
