Going Green Eco-Panel

Sunday, March 29 at 2:00 p.m. Jackson Memorial Library in Tenants Harbor will host a panel discussion of “green” issues. Included will be everything from sustainable architecture and living off the grid to raising one’s own food and protecting local agriculture.

Among the panel members will be Nina Young of Maine Farmland Trust who will discuss agricultural conservation and support for local farmers. Jan Wirth of Old Woods Farm will speak about sustainable architecture and building practices. Sandy Yakovenko of St George will talk about her experience of self-sufficiency and living off the grid. She will also touch on the subject of green funerals. Suzanne Moore will include green economics and the publication of the book Right Relationship: Building a Whole Earth Economy by Peter G Brown and Geoffrey Garver.

The panel will be open to questions and discussion.
