Front Page Teaser: A Liz Higgins Mystery

On October 21, 2010 at 7 pm, the Jackson Memorial Library, 38 Main St. Tenants Harbor will be hosting an author event featuring Rosemary Herbert and her book Front Page Teaser: A Liz Higgins Mystery. Rosemary will reveal how the Greater Boston scene, her newsroom experience, and her library work were useful to her in writing Front Page Teaser. She will discuss how the way we present the news can skew the public’s understanding of events and talk about why her book is also a tribute to librarians and librarianship. She will also talk about the roles of romance and the holidays in mystery fiction. Rosemary will speak briefly about working with the late Tony Hillerman on editing the anthology, A New Omnibus of Crime, recently published in a new paperback edition.

From the age of ten, when she wrote her own first mystery story after reading numerous Nancy Drew novels with a flashlight at night, Rosemary Herbert always wanted to be a mystery writer. After pursuing a varied career including working as a Harvard University librarian, book review editor and features writer at the Boston Herald, publicity director at Down East Books, Magazine and Online, and as children’s librarian at the Thomaston Public Library, she has now made her lifelong dream come true with the publication of Front Page Teaser: A Liz Higgins Mystery.

A book signing follows the talk. This event is free and open to the public. For more information please visit www.JacksonMemorialLibrary.org or phone 372-8961
