St. George Community Sailing Scholarships

The library is again offering scholarships for the St. George Community Sailing Foundation Junior Summer program.  Applications are available at the library and need to be turned in by May 31.  Recipients will be notified in early June.  To register for the sailing program, fill out the form  here

Support the Pre-K!

Reserve your table now for the Pre-K Rummage and Craft Sale on Saturday, June 2 from 9 AM to 1 PM.  The sale will be held at the Odd Fellows Hall on Watts Avenue. Tables are $20 each and can be reserved by calling the library at 372-8961.

Open House Saturday April 28th, 10am to 2pm

Stop by the Library on Saturday, April 28th to learn more about the new library. Volunteers will be on hand to walk you through the plans and answer your questions.

Baron Wormser

 Please join us on Wednesday, May 2nd at 7 p.m. as Baron Wormser reads from his latest collection of poems, Impenitent Notes. Wormser is the author of nine books of poetry, a memoir and a book of short stories. He teaches in the Fairfield University MFA program and directs the Frost Place Conference on Poetry and Teaching. From 2000 to 2005 he served as the poet laureate of Maine. In 2006 he taught a course on poetry here at the library. 

Boys' Book Club

robotThe Boys' Book Club will meet on Tuesday April 10 from 5:30-7 PM for our last meeting of the year.  It will be a potluck meal.  Boys are choosing their own book to talk about at the meeting and we will continue working on our robotics project from the last meeting.

Poetry Celebration


On Sunday, April 15th the public is invited to a celebration of poetry at the Jackson Memorial Library. People are encouraged to read a poem aloud, whether it be an original piece or the work of another poet. The event will take place at 2 p.m. Admission is free and there will be light refreshments. Please join us as we celebrate National Poetry Month.
