Artists' Round Table (A.R.T)

The Artists’ Round Table (A.R.T.) will hold its second meeting onThursday, August 8th at 10:30 AM in the Community Room of the Jackson Memorial Library. This month, Mimo Gordon-Riley will moderate a panel discussion about what it takes to be a professional full-time artist. Open discussion will follow.

Kathy Cartwright, Volunteer Curator of Fine Art Exhibitions, and Jo Lindsay, member of JML Committee for Fine Art Exhibitions received 50 pieces of art from Featured Artists for the inaugural Summer Group Exhibition.




Otty Merrill, member of JML Committee for Fine Art Exhibitions, helps Kathy Cartwright hang a work by Kathleen Fox, one of the Featured Artists. The exhibition will run through October 2nd. JML receives a 30% commission for each piece sold.

Library Gallery Space is Open



We are proud to celebrate the works of 24 visual artists of the Town of St. George in a Group Exhibition from June 23 to October 2, 2013 for our community’s aesthetic enjoyment and as a catalyst for meaningful dialogue. This exhibition launches the start of a two-year series of twelve exhibitions by included artists, two at a time.

Reception to Toast the New Library and Open the Group Art Show - 7/26 5pm to 8pm


Please come to a reception on Friday, July 26th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm to Toast the New Library and Open the Group Art Show. The show, which will hang from July 23rd to October 2nd, is two pieces by each of the 24 featured artists. 

Andre Dubus III to speak on Wednesday, July 31st

Andre Dubus III c Kevin HarkinsJackson Memorial Library is proud to sponsor the Award-winning author Andre Dubus III as a part of the St. George Literary Series 2013. He will speak at the Ocean View Grange at 5:30 on Wednesday, July the 31st. The event is free and open to the public.  

Andre Dubus III grew up in mill towns on the Merrimack River along the Massachusetts-New Hampshire border. He comes from a large literary family, including his father Andre Dubus, the late short story master. His own writing career began at age 22 just a few months after graduating from the University of Texas at Austin.

Kate Braestrup Event Regretfully Cancelled

Kate Braestrup regretfully has to cancel Tuesday evening. Her daughter is seriously ill and in the hospital. We all wish them the best.
