Thanks for a Wonder-ful Launch (video included)

Though it was a dreary and blowy day, the library was aglow with over 250 happy faces at the launch on October 25th, celebrating the new library for St George.

The day’s success is due to many hands belonging to staff and volunteers, however two volunteers stand out as deserving special mention.

Poetry Writing Workshop - November 14th

Self as Other: The Self-Portrait Poem

Poetry Workshop with Kimberly Cloutier Green

November 14, 1 to 3pm

As Shearer West writes in Portraiture, “underlying all self-portraiture is the mystery of how an individual sees himself or herself as other.” This writing workshop, open to all, will experiment with the self-portrait poem as a way of exploring “the self” as subject. Metaphor will be our medium and form will be our brushstroke. Participants will be offered a variety of prompts for the creation of a self-portrait poem during the workshop period. Beginning and long-practicing writers welcome. Please bring writing materials you enjoy using to the workshop. The workshop is free, but please register.
