Always Wanted to Learn to Knit? Over the Rainbow Yarn Donation is Raffle Ready

To the knitters or future knitters in our community we'd like to introduce a great new shop in Rockland called Over the Rainbow Yarn.  On School Street in the Old Odd Fellows Hall in Rockland, you'll find this bright and colorful yarn shop ready to handle all your knitting and crocheting needs.  Stocking a wide range of yarns, notions, tools, books and patterns for knitters and roving for spinners. 

New to the neighborhood, we were happy to receive a donation from Over the Rainbow Yarn.  They have graciously donated a gift certificate good for a knitting lesson as well as a basket of yarn for your next project.   Over the Rainbow offers basic and advanced knitting and crocheting courses and they have a skilled staff to help with any of your knitting questions.

This shop features artisan small batch yarns from local producers too supporting a great fiber arts community.  Whether you want to show off your newest masterpiece or if you would like to get your first stitches under your belt, stop into Over the Rainbow Yarn in Rockland.

What would the village of Port Clyde be without the charm of the Village Ice Cream Shop and Bakery? Well it's our opinion that it just wouldn't be the same.  Jessica Christensen keeps old school ice cream shop ambiance and style alive in the harbor village.

All along Maine's coast line you see small seafood places serving up dishes, but here on the peninsula we are lucky to have a great little family owned seafood shop of our own and it's called Doug's Seafood.  Tucked in the woods just past Drift Inn beach parking you will find a great spot to order up some great local seafood deliciously prepared.

Doug's Seafood has donated a gift certificate for two haddock baskets from their business.  A meal fit for a king! The truly local dishes from Doug's are always crisp, light and a bit addictive.  Have a seat at one of their many picnic tables, smell the fresh ocean air and enjoy yourself some fresh local seafood.

Dancers On Your Toes! Studio Red Dance Donation is Raffle Ready

Downtown Rockland has so much to offer and on School Street tucked away in the old Odd Fellows Hall is a great little dance studio called Studio Red.  Studio Red focuses on education through dance and works to go beyond technique and really help mold and shape great character and integrity in their dancers.

New to the neighborhood, we are happy to welcome Spruce Head Pizza to the community as it serves up unique slices and pies for St. George residents.  With a focus on traditional Neapolitan brick oven pizzas with extraordinary toppings, Spruce Head totes a fantastic menu that ranges from the standard toppings to the Pizza Margarita and their own lobster pizza pies available with white or red sauces. 

We are honored to have this year's donation from The Gleode family, owners of Spruce Head Pizza, for our annual business raffle which includes a gift certificate for $25 worth of deliciousness.  But it doesn't stop at just pizza at this pizza shop.  They also offer lunch time calzones, all day sandwiches, wings of all degrees and we can't forget to mention the latte and coffee assortment available at this local pizza shop.  Believe it or not, there's ice-cream too!

Our community has been blessed with the alternative aquaculture education offered at Herring Gut Learning Center.  Herring Gut has grown and changed in so many ways, it is an inspiration to watch the transformation of its students and the center itself.  For the past couple of summers Herring Gut Learning Center has joined forces with Bittersweet Heritage Farm to offer our neighborhood an amazing Community Farm Market
